We’re situated in Biel/Bienne - the largest bilingual city in Switzerland. Located on the boundary between German and French speaking regions; Biel is the German name for the town and Bienne is its French counterpart.
The city’s population is about 50,000, with over 150 nationalities represented and 27% being foreign nationals. Like many Swiss cities, it’s a multi-cultural hub.
We love Biel/Bienne for many reasons. We’re in the heart of the Swiss watch-making industry which is dynamic and industrious. We can practice our language skills on a daily basis – be it German, French, English, Italian or even sometimes Swedish. We’re surrounded by fantastic recreational opportunities – like sailing on the Lake of Biel/Bienne, cycling in the foothills of the Jura Mountains, walking in the surrounding farmland and forests. We think we’re lucky.
