Bernafon recognised that the technology differences between many hearing aids on the market was becoming less significant. Another approach to attract discerning buyers was to use design as a differentiating factor.
The Creaholic team had a number of criteria to consider when designing the new device. It needed to appeal to a younger target market, allow a degree of customisation, and of course respect the high tolerances needed for optimum functionality.
The project was divided into two distinct phases. In the first phase Creaholic proposed three concepts inspired by soft organic forms and jewelry. In the second phase, our team worked closely with Bernafon to transform one of the concepts into an industrialised product. It went on to win a Red Dot Design Award in 2007.
